(what’s a chord?)…oh no, more talk…but let’s save the talk for the next lesson and just play!!!
you don’t need to do much to know a lot…here’s 3 chords to learn that you can play a lot of songs with
and here is what you can do if you know 4 chords: E B C#mi A [cheating alert: you can even put a capo on the 9th fret and play G D Emi C]
there are 15 basic chords you’ve got to know, because once you know them, the guitar will make so much sense to you, songs will be easier to learn, and most importantly the guitar will not be a mystery.
the 15 basic chords are:
5 Major Chords (C,A,G,E,D)
+
5 Minor Chords (C,A,G,E,D)
+
5 Dominant Chords (C,A,G,E,D)
= 15 very important chords.
let’s start with the 5 majorly important MAJOR chords!
C major, A major, G major, E major, and D major

a MAJOR chord is a typically combination of 3 different notes to produce a happy sound on the guitar (as long as you are in tune).
those 3 different notes are the 1st, 3rd, and 5th note of the Major Scale.
